System Requirements

nFlow digital dictation system requirements*

These requirements are a guide only. We will be very happy to work with you to asses your existing system and provide practical advice on what, if anything, needs to be done to get it ready for the proposed nFlow digital dictation solution.

Supported Environments

• LAN - Cat 5e or above - TCP IP enabled.
• WAN.
• VPN.
• Microsoft Network Services.
• Novell Network Services (requires at least one Microsoft OS attached to run SQL Server).
• Citrix & Citrix Secure Access Gateway.
• Microsoft  Terminal Services.
• Blackberry (Dictation only)
• Windows Mobile (Dictation only)

Hardware

Server - Database

 

Requirements can differ depending on the number of users however as a minimum:

• Pentium III 1Ghz Processor.
• 1GB Ram.
• 1GB free hard disk space.
• RAID or mirrored hard drives.

Server - Audio files repositories

 

This is often combined on a single server with the database.

• 120MB disk space per dictator based on average usage and a 14 day retention policy.
• RAID or mirrored hard drives.

Desktop

• Pentium III 600Khz.
• 256MB Ram.
• 500MB free hard disk space.
• At least one free USB port for dictation PCs and two free USB ports for transcription stations.

Citrix

• As per Citrix guidelines for number of users per server.

Terminal Services

• As per Microsoft guidelines for number of users per server.

Telephone Dictation Interface

• Pentium IV 2.4Ghz.
• 1GB RAM.
• Fast as possible IO access HDD - 20GB.
• At least one free PCI slot.
• Fail over technologies can be considered dependent on up time levels required.

nFlow Mobile

• Blackberry devices.
• 8700 (with 4.2.1 OS upgrade), 8100 Pearl, 8800, 8300 Curve.
• Windows Mobile devices.
• PDA only.
• Web Upload.
• As per Microsoft guidelines for IIS Server.
• Email Gateway.
• As per Microsoft guidelines for Exchange.

Software

Server - Database

• Windows 2000/2003.
• Windows SBS 2000/2003.
• Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005.
• Microsoft MSDE2000.
• Microsoft SQL 2005 Server Express.

N.B Microsoft clustering and database replication technologies are supported.

Server - Audio files repositories

• Windows 2000/2003.
• Windows SBS 2000/2003.
• Novell Dataserver.
• Any UNC accessible storage device.

Desktop

• Windows 2000.
• Windows XP.

Citrix

• Metaframe Server XP.
• Presentation Server 3 & 4.

• Secure Access Gateway.
• ICA client 7 and above.

Terminal Services

• Windows 2000/2003 Terminal Services server.
• Windows XP Terminal Services Client (RDP).

Telephone Dictation Interface

• Windows Server 2000/2003.
• Windows XP Professional.

nFlow Mobile

• Blackberry dictation client.
• 4.2.x Device Operating System or above.
• SD card reccomended.
• BES or BIS account.
• Email enabled.
• Windows Mobile dictation client.
• Windows Mobile v2003, 5 & 6.
• .Net v2 Compact Framework.
• Email enabled.
• Web Upload.
• Microsoft IIS Server v6.0 or above.
• SSL is reccomended.
• ASP.Net v2 Framework.
