nFlow version 5 put through its paces during testing at Microsoft scalability labs
"nFlow v5 will see the delivery of a 2nd generation DDS solution underpinned by architecture based on Microsoft best practice and the .net platform."

nFlow, a leading supplier of digital dictation solutions announced today that following a week long visit to the Microsoft Scalability Labs in Reading, nFlow Version 5 has performed consistently well, in many cases exceeding set target performance figures. The Microsoft Scalability Labs are an opportunity for companies who place significant emphasis on the importance of rigorous testing and analysis and are willing to invest both from a financial and time perspective. The impending launch of nFlow Version 5 will see the delivery of a 2nd Generation digital dictation solution underpinned by architecture based on Microsoft Best Practice and the.net platform.
Rob Lancashire, nFlow Sales & Marketing Director commented “By working with Microsoft and their Project Management and Technology Architecture we have ensured that the Version 5 project has met a variety of project milestones from the onset with the scalability labs validating all the decisions that have been made. We see Version 5 as a 2nd Generation Digital Dictation System (DDS²) and involving Microsoft at the start of such an innovative technological advancement has been extremely beneficial.”
Throughout the process tests were run on high numbers of users with the load on the database shown to be very low, allowing SQL Express to be supported for implementations of several hundred users. Tests were also run simulating limited bandwidth connections with results showing the client to server load to be very low.
Tony Moxham, nFlow Technical Operations Director commented; “The purpose of the scalability lab was to confirm that the development to date has resulted in the desired service levels Version 5 is required to deliver. The data captured will enable further tuning to be carried out on both the web services and the database to improve performance still further. This insight into the products ability with large numbers of users enables tuning to be carried out to optimise the performance to the very highest level..”
Running Version 5 in the scalability labs is of great importance to nFlow who are aware of the significant performance advantages v5 will have against other digital dictation products that have not been tested in this way. By running such extensive tests through the Microsoft labs with their experts on hand to monitor and make recommendations will ultimately deliver a superior customer experience at both the system and user levels.
“Ultimately not only the nFlow Version 5 product but the nFlow technical team has gained and will continue to gain invaluable experience from the testing process. As we continue to finalise the product we are able to take on board all the results to ensure the final product is built to the highest of technical standards delivering unrivalled functionality to the end user.” Continued Moxham.
nFlow will continue to update on further scalability testing and the planned release of Version 5, 2nd Generation Digital Dictation, is set for June 2008. Demonstrations of Version 5 will be available at the forthcoming Legal IT Show, February 6-7th 2008. For more information please click here to contact nFlow.
