nFlow Announces Microsoft Development Strategy for v5

"Central to the nFlow Development Strategy is the launch of Version 5, a groundbreaking digital dictation platform that combines the strength and expertise of nFlow and the technical leadership of Microsoft"
20th June 2007

nFlow today announced the launch of its Microsoft led Development Strategy, a strategy that will position nFlow as the most innovative and technologically advanced digital dictation supplier in the UK Legal and Professional Services Market. Central to the nFlow Development Strategy is the launch of Version 5, a groundbreaking digital dictation platform that combines the strength and expertise of nFlow and the technical leadership of Microsoft.

As a long standing Microsoft Partner, with core Microsoft ISV competencies, nFlow is now one of the largest providers of digital dictation technology to the UK legal sector. Recognising that existing digital dictation platforms are reaching their limits, nFlow have instigated the development of Version 5, a platform that combines greater flexibility and extensible architecture. Rob Lancashire of nFlow commented “We constantly monitor the requirements of the market and experience told us that there was a real need to develop a platform that would take digital dictation to the next level, complimenting the recent development of the nFlow mobility suite. We were also keen to develop a platform that took advantage of the latest technologies available including .net, Internet Information Server (IIS) and SQL Server. With this in mind we took the decision to make a serious additional investment in extensive research and development by contracting Microsoft as lead design consultants. We were aware that we had to be careful and considered with any .Net development. I believe our investment in Microsoft’s expertise ensures current and prospective nFlow digital dictation users can be assured that the solution will meet their requirements now and into the future. In my opinion we are the only UK digital dictation developer demonstrating such a substantial commitment to new technology.”

The appointment of Microsoft as consultants on the project was a considered decision by nFlow who consistently invest heavily in research and development acknowledging that this is a sure fire way to guarantee the development of functionally rich and innovative technology. The ongoing work with Microsoft is focusing on four key areas; architecture advice, scalability labs, best practice and application development consultancy. “ By working so closely with Microsoft we are confident that Version 5 will be an unrivalled platform; it is undergoing continuous rigorous scrutiny by the worlds leading technology organisation and has been developed with a view to future technologies and the requirements of digital dictation within a professional services environment at its core.” Continued Lancashire.

Version 5 is a complete platform rebuild resulting in a revolutionary digital dictation system which will significantly extend the level of service offered through a platform that will be equipped to support and offer new technologies as they become available. Customers can expect Version 5 to be a more effortless deployment, a new, richer interface with central administration. “We are very excited about Version 5, combine this with the nFlow mobility suite and we are confident that nFlow digital dictation will be the most technically advanced, robust system on the market.”
