After a successful pilot trial, nFlow Software announced today that Salans , an international practice with 350 lawyers worldwide, is implementing its digital dictation workflow system, DictaFlow, to all its staff in the London office, with plans to roll out to its other offices worldwide.
The system will replace existing tapes and tape machines and has been chosen after extensive testing of various speech dictation products. The testing consistently identified digital dictation workflow as the best place to start implementation of speech technologies into the legal office.
DictaFlow is developed and marketed by nFlow who focus solely on the development of dictation management software for the legal market. Roll out started in September 2001 with completion targeted for December 2001. The payback period on the completed installation is expected to be as little as ten months.
Salans needed to increase existing secretarial resource capability and recognised that the system provided an opportunity for greater productivity. Dictation is now getting to secretaries much faster and documents are turned around more quickly. Management reporting of the transcription workload has allowed better use of secretarial time and is expected to significantly reduce temporary staff costs.
